UGCLive privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what UGCLive collects when you use the UGCLive iPhone app and ugc.live, why, who helps us process it, and what you can do about it. The short version: we use your data to run the app, we don't sell it, and we don't show ads.

Who we are

UGCLive ("we", "us") makes the UGCLive video editing app and this website. Questions about this policy or your data go to support@ugc.live.

What we collect

Your account

Your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and identifier they share with us. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide my email", we only see the relay address.

Your answers during setup

Optional answers about your creator experience, platforms, income range and goals. We use them to tailor the app and to understand who uses it.

Your videos and projects

Projects and media you edit are stored on your iPhone. Media is uploaded to our servers only when a feature needs it: exporting a video, AI edit, auto captions, B-roll, hooks, voiceover, or posting to a social account. To write hooks we also process the product brief you type and, if you choose, your clip's transcript.

Your voice

If you set up AI voice, you record a short sample and confirm it is your own voice and that you agree to it being cloned. We send the sample to our voice provider to create the clone, then delete the recording. The clone is used only to speak the scripts you write. You can delete it in the app at any time, which deletes it at the provider too.

Connected social accounts and posts

When you connect TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, the authorisation happens on the platform's own page and the access is held by our posting provider. We keep the account's name and picture, and the posts you publish or schedule (video, caption, time and status).

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store. We receive your subscription status and transaction details from Apple through RevenueCat. We never see your card or Apple ID payment details.

Referral payouts

If you join the referral program and request payouts, Stripe collects the identity and bank details it needs to pay you. We see your payout account status and the amounts paid, and we keep a ledger of the referral earnings and payouts on your account.

The free tools on ugc.live

Most free tools (the teleprompter, calculators, templates and the video caption generator) run entirely in your browser, and what you type or upload stays on your device. The AI generators (hooks, captions, hashtags, video ideas and bios) send the text you type to an AI model through our server to write the result; the text to speech tool sends your text to a voice model and gives you back an audio file hosted by that provider. We don't store what you type in these tools or link it to you. To prevent abuse we count requests per IP address for the day, in memory, and don't keep that count.

Website analytics

To see which pages and tools are used, ugc.live uses PostHog and Ahrefs Web Analytics, both set up without cookies. They record pages viewed, which tools were used, referring sites and approximate country, not what you type. Neither loads if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Technical data

Like any online service, our servers log requests (such as IP address, device type, app version and errors) to keep the service running and secure. We don't use advertising trackers.

How we use it

  • To run the features you use: editing, rendering, AI features, posting and scheduling.
  • To manage your account, subscription and referral earnings.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse and fraud.
  • To answer you when you contact us, and to send service messages (for example about your account or payouts).
  • To understand how the app is used and make it better.

We don't sell your personal data, share it for advertising, or use your videos to train our own AI models.

Who processes it for us

We use these service providers, and send each only what its job needs:

  • Supabase: sign-in, database and file storage.
  • Modal: servers that render exports and run the AI editor.
  • Deepgram: speech-to-text for AI edit and captions.
  • Anthropic: language models for hooks, retake detection and B-roll placement.
  • Google (Gemini): understanding what is in your B-roll footage.
  • ElevenLabs: voice cloning and speech for AI voice.
  • Postiz: connecting social accounts and publishing posts.
  • Apple and RevenueCat: subscriptions and purchase records.
  • Stripe: referral payouts.
  • fal.ai and OpenRouter: running the AI models behind the website's free AI tools and text to speech.
  • PostHog and Ahrefs: cookieless website analytics.
  • Railway: hosting for the website and our servers.

When you post, your video and caption go to the platform you chose (TikTok, Instagram or YouTube) and are then covered by that platform's own privacy policy. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to a buyer if UGCLive is ever sold, under this policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. Uploads and exports are kept so you can download and post them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. When you delete your account we delete your data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as payment, payout and tax records.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your AI voice, disconnect social accounts and cancel scheduled posts in the app.
  • Ask for a copy of your data, or for us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@ugc.live.
  • Cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights, such as to object to some processing or to complain to your data protection authority. We'll answer any request within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, uploads are kept in private storage, and secrets such as API keys stay on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us at support@ugc.live if you find a problem.

Children

UGCLive is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email before a significant change takes effect.
