How TikTok Shop commission and fees are worked out
Affiliate commission = (product price excluding tax − seller discount) × commission rate, on orders that aren't refunded. TikTok's US pages write it as (revenue − refunds) × commission rate, and list no fee taken from the creator's side. It's typically paid 15 days after delivery.
Referral fee (what the seller pays TikTok) = rate × (customer payment + platform discount − tax). It's 6% for most US categories, and the base includes shipping the customer pays. On a refund, TikTok returns the referral fee minus a refund administration fee of 20% of it, capped at $5 per SKU.
Seller profit = revenue from completed orders − referral fee − affiliate commission − refund fees − cost of goods − shipping − packaging. The calculator assumes one unit per order and that returned items go back into stock.

These are TikTok Shop US rates. The UK, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico and other markets publish their own fees, and TikTok changes them. beBOLD Digital, a seller agency, reported on September 14, 2026 that most non-food US categories went from 6% to 8% on August 4, 2026, citing Delzonic and other seller resources, and called it a reported change because TikTok's public table still listed 6%. That table still showed 6% when we checked it on October 14, 2026. Your Seller Center fee page and settlement reports have the rate you actually pay; type it into the calculator if it differs.

Tips for TikTok Shop creators and sellers
- Compare commission per sale. 10% of a $60 product beats 25% of a $15 one: $6.00 against $3.75.
- Plan for returns. Commission on refunded orders is taken back, and the estimate in your dashboard ignores refunds until they happen.
- Sellers: price the creator in. At 15% commission plus the 6% referral fee, about a fifth of every affiliate sale goes before shipping and stock.
- Make the first seconds count. Show the product early and keep text clear of the app's buttons with a safe zone overlay, then post when your audience is on (when to post on TikTok).

How much do TikTok Shop affiliates earn?
Commission is the product price (before tax, minus any seller discount) times the rate the seller sets, on orders that aren't refunded. A $29.99 product at 15% pays $4.50 a sale; 100 sales with 8% returned pays $413.86. Rates vary by product and seller, so read the one on the product card.
Does TikTok take a cut of affiliate commission?
Not in the US, as far as TikTok's own pages say: they give the commission as (revenue − refunds) × the commission rate, with no platform fee taken from the creator. The seller pays TikTok's referral fee separately. If you work through an agency, enter its share as "Other deductions".
What are TikTok Shop's seller fees in the US?
A referral fee of 6% on most categories (5% on some fine jewelry and pre-owned items, and 3% on the part of a collectible or pre-owned sale above $10,000), charged on what the buyer pays plus platform discounts, minus tax. The old payment transaction fee ended for orders placed after April 3, 2023. Refunds add a fee of 20% of the refunded referral fee, up to $5. Creator commission, shipping and fulfilment are on top.
Do returns reduce my commission?
Yes. A fully refunded or cancelled order earns no commission, and a partial refund lowers it. TikTok's estimated commission doesn't account for refunds, so the figure in your dashboard can drop before it's paid.
When is TikTok Shop commission paid?
Typically about 15 days after the order is delivered, once the seller's order has settled. It can take longer if the seller's settlement period is longer or a refund or dispute is open.
Did TikTok Shop raise its referral fee to 8%?
