TikTok hook generator

A free TikTok hook generator: describe your product or video and get 8 opening lines, each with on-screen text and why it works. No sign-up.

Rather start from lines written by people? The UGC hooks library has 72 hooks we wrote by hand, sorted by type and niche, each with why it works.

Writing for TikTok Shop? Once the hook is set, the TikTok caption writer adds a Shop call to action under the video, and our guides cover selling your own products and the affiliate rules for creators.

Example: eight hooks for a reusable lint roller

We ran the generator above once on October 14, 2026 with the input below and copied what came back without editing it. The notes under each result are ours.

Product or video
a $15 reusable lint roller I use on my couch; my dog is a golden retriever and sheds a lot; you rinse the roller under the tap instead of buying refills
Who it's for
dog owners with fabric couches
Platform and angle
TikTok, Mix
  1. Your couch is covered in dog hair again, isn't it? On screen: Dog hair on the couch?Problem angle, 10 words. Our pick to film first: a problem owners of shedding dogs know, asked as a question they answer in their head.
  2. Why does my golden retriever shed this much on one couch? On screen: Why so much fur?Curiosity angle, 11 words. "On one couch" is odd phrasing; the rest works if you show the fur.
  3. This $15 roller is the one I keep on my couch now. On screen: $15 lint roller, couch editionResult angle, 12 words. Price and use in one line, both from our input.
  4. Golden retriever owners with fabric couches, you need to see this. On screen: Golden owners, watch thisCallout angle, 11 words. "You need to see this" is a line that could open any video. The callout to golden retriever owners is the strong part.
  5. My golden retriever sheds all day, so I started keeping this by the couch. On screen: My golden sheds all dayStory angle, 14 words. Says "sheds all day" where we said "sheds a lot". Close enough if it's true of your dog.
  6. Think a lint roller can't handle golden fur? Watch me try. On screen: Can it handle golden fur?Objection angle, 11 words. Promises a test on camera. Use it only if the video shows the roller on real fur.
  7. A $15 roller, and you rinse it under the tap instead of buying refills. On screen: Rinse it, skip the refillsPrice angle, 14 words. Our second pick: the price and the no-refill detail, the two facts a buyer compares.
  8. Stop paying for sticky refills every time your couch gets furry. On screen: No more refill runsProblem angle, 11 words. Speaks to people who already buy refills, the ones the rinse detail matters to.

Generated by this tool on October 14, 2026 (Claude Haiku through fal.ai), unedited. A new run gives different results.

None of the eight came back marked “only if it's true for you”, and on this input that was right: we checked each line against what we typed, and the only stretch is number 5's “all day”. The mark comes from the model judging its own line, and in our earlier tests it missed some, so read every hook, marked or not.

How to use Hook generator

  1. 1

    Describe the product

Say what it is and the one thing it does. A true, specific detail (a price, how long you've used it, what it replaced) gives the hooks something real to say.

  2. 2

    Pick the platform and angle

Choose TikTok, Reels or Shorts, and an angle such as problem, curiosity or price, or leave it on Mix for one of each.

  3. 3

Keep the ones that are true

Lines marked "only if it's true for you" claim a result or a story: use them only if they happened. Film the ones you'd say out loud, each as its own opening over the same video.

FAQ

Hook generator FAQ

Is the hook generator free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Each visitor gets 20 free generations a day, shared across the site's AI tools.

What is a TikTok hook?

The first one to three seconds of a video: the opening line, the on-screen text and the first shot that make someone stop scrolling. Everything after it can stay the same, so it's the cheapest part of a video to test: film two openings and keep the rest.

Can I post the hooks as they are?

Read each one first. The generator only knows what you typed, so cut anything that isn't true for you, especially lines marked "only if it's true for you". Claiming results you didn't get is against the FTC's endorsement rules in the US.

What happens to what I type?

It goes through our server and fal.ai (its OpenRouter router) to Anthropic's Claude Haiku, which writes the hooks. UGCLive doesn't store it, and fal's and Anthropic's own terms apply to it. Don't type anything you wouldn't post.

Which AI writes the hooks?

Anthropic's Claude Haiku, reached through fal.ai, with rules to stay with the facts you give, keep spoken lines under 12 words and flag claims that must be true.
