TikTok hashtag generator
A free TikTok hashtag generator that also works for Instagram and YouTube: describe your video and get a top three, then broad, niche and specific hashtags to pick from. No sign-up.
Example: hashtags for a TikTok Shop serum review
We ran the generator above once on October 14, 2026 with the input below and copied what came back without editing it. The notes under each result are ours.
- The video
- review of a $9 niacinamide serum for oily skin, two-week check-in, sold on TikTok Shop
- Platform
- TikTok
- Top 3: #skincare #oilyskin #niacinamideAll three name the topic. Fine as they are.
- Broad: #beauty #skincaretok #skincareroutine #review #tiktokshop #beautytok#review and #beauty could describe almost any video; #skincaretok and #beautytok at least name a TikTok community.
- Niche: #oilyskincare #acnetok #skincarereview #budgetskincare #affordableskincare #niacinamideserum #skincaretips #poreminimizer#acnetok and #poreminimizer would claim the serum helps acne and pores, which we never said. Drop both. #budgetskincare fits a $9 serum.
- Specific: #oilyskinroutine #twoweekcheckin #9dollarserum #tiktokshopfinds #serumreview #skincarefinds#serumreview and #twoweekcheckin say exactly what the video is. #9dollarserum only helps if people search by price, so check it in TikTok first.
Generated by this tool on October 14, 2026 (Claude Haiku through fal.ai), unedited. A new run gives different results.
What we'd post: #skincare #oilyskin #niacinamide #budgetskincare #serumreview. Five tags, all true to the video, and the same set fits Instagram's five-tag limit if the review goes on Reels too. The generator left out #fyp and bait tags, but it doesn't know which tags make a claim about the product, so that check is yours.
Why broad, niche and specific?
Each group answers a different question about the video. A broad tag says the general subject (#skincare), a niche tag says which community it's for (#oilyskincare), and a specific tag says what this one video is (#serumreview). A set with one of each describes the video at every level, and keeps you from five tags that all say the same thing.
What do TikTok, Instagram and YouTube say about hashtags?
Each platform's own page, read October 14, 2026. Only Instagram sets a small limit.
| Platform | Limit | What its page says |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | No number published | The Creator Academy calls “a long list of hashtags will help your video rank higher” a myth; the newsroom (2020) says #FYP and #ForYou “work just like all other hashtags”. |
| 5 per post | With more than 5 tags, the comment won't post (Instagram Help Center). | |
| YouTube | Ignored above 60 | Up to three show by the title; unrelated hashtags may get a video removed (YouTube Help). The YouTube hashtag page has more. |

FAQHashtag generator FAQ
How many hashtags should I use on TikTok?
TikTok doesn't publish a number. Its Creator Academy (updated August 18, 2026) calls the idea that a long list of hashtags ranks a video higher a myth. Our default is the top three plus one or two niche or specific tags, five at most, which also fits Instagram's limit of five if you post the same video there.
Does this show how popular each hashtag is?
No. It suggests tags people use for that kind of video, but it doesn't have live post counts. Search a tag in TikTok or Instagram to see how active it is before you rely on it.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up. Each visitor gets 20 free generations a day, shared across the site's AI tools.
Why aren't #fyp or #viral suggested?
TikTok's newsroom said in 2020 that #FYP and #ForYou work just like all other hashtags, so they say nothing about your video that a topic tag doesn't. The generator leaves them out, along with engagement bait like #follow4follow.
What happens to what I type?
It goes through our server and fal.ai (its OpenRouter router) to Anthropic's Claude Haiku, which writes the tags. UGCLive doesn't store it, and fal's and Anthropic's own terms apply to it. Don't type anything you wouldn't post.
