Short answer
TikTok Shop LIVE lets sellers and affiliate creators sell products pinned to a livestream; viewers buy without leaving it.
You need to be 18 or older to go LIVE, and an affiliate creator needs 1,000 followers in the US or 500 in the UK and EU. US creators under 5,000 followers can host 3 shoppable LIVEs a week. Add at least one product to your LIVE showcase, pin one product at a time, and keep it real time: TikTok Shop's rules ban pre-recorded clips and AI voiceovers in LIVEs.
What is TikTok Shop LIVE?
- LIVE ShoppingA livestream with products from TikTok Shop attached. The pinned product shows as a card viewers tap to buy.
- Who hosts itA seller on its own account, a creator promoting a seller's product for commission, or a brand's official or marketing account.
- LIVE ManagerTikTok's desktop console for planning a LIVE, pinning products and comments, and letting moderators help.
- Flash salesDiscounted stock a seller assigns to a creator, which the creator launches from LIVE Manager during the stream.
LIVE is one of the two ways to sell as a TikTok Shop creator; the other is a shoppable video. Commission works the same in both, set by the seller per product. TikTok says more than 6,000 TikTok Shop LIVEs run in the UK every day (newsroom, March 2025). The rules for joining as a creator in each country are in the TikTok affiliate program by country.

TikTok's own LIVE guide says only that the follower count to go LIVE "may vary by region" and gives no number, so the figures above are the bars for selling on LIVE as an affiliate. A US creator kept in an extended pilot gets 1 shoppable LIVE a week. Hosting one LIVE of at least 5 minutes with products is one of the ways out of the pilot early, in the US and in the EU's version of it (Ireland, Spain, Italy, France and Germany; see TikTok Shop in Europe).

How do you add and pin products in a TikTok LIVE?
- 1. Add products to your showcaseA product has to be in your LIVE showcase before it can appear in the stream. Products in the showcase join the LIVE by default.
- 2. Tap + then LIVE, then ProductsOn the pre-LIVE screen, pick what you'll sell. In LIVE Manager you need at least 1 product to start; TikTok suggests 10 or more.
- 3. Schedule itMobile LIVE events must be scheduled at least 2 hours before; LIVE Manager events can start at once. An event runs 30 minutes to 13 hours, with up to 100 products.2 hours ahead
- 4. Pin one product at a timeTap the shopping bag, then Pin. Pinning a new product unpins the last one, and TikTok says to re-pin about every 30 seconds or the card fades and fewer people tap it.Every 30 seconds
- 5. Add moderatorsUp to 20 per livestream, from Settings, to mute or block commenters while you sell.
If a seller sent you a free sample, a LIVE counts as the promised content when it runs at least 10 minutes with the sample product pinned, within 14 days of receiving it.
What does a 30-minute TikTok Shop LIVE look like?
Thirty minutes is LIVE Manager's shortest event, and TikTok's older LIVE guide suggests 6 to 10 products an hour, so three products fit. This run of show is our template: it follows the limits and tips on TikTok's pages (teaser the day before, one pinned product at a time, re-pin every 30 seconds), and the timings are our suggestion.
A 30-minute LIVE with three pinned products
- Day beforePost a teaserOne video under 30 seconds, saying when you'll go LIVE and what's on sale. TikTok suggests boosting it two hours before.
- 0:00 to 3:00Open and pin the hero productSay what the LIVE is for and what the flash price is. Pin product 1 before you say hello, so early viewers see it.
- 3:00 to 11:00Product 1: show it workingDemo it on camera, answer comments by name, re-pin every 30 seconds.
- 11:00 to 13:00Launch the flash saleStart the seller's flash deal from LIVE Manager with a countdown; the price is set by the seller, not you.
- 13:00 to 20:00Product 2: the add-onSomething that goes with product 1. Pinning it unpins product 1, so say so out loud.
- 20:00 to 27:00Product 3, then questionsThe third product, then the questions you skipped. Re-pin whichever one people ask about.
- 27:00 to 30:00Recap and closePin the best seller again, say what's still in stock and when the next LIVE is.

Write the run of show as a script and rehearse it once with our free teleprompter. On the LIVE itself, talk from bullet points: TikTok's rules want real-time conversation, and reading word for word sounds like the pre-recorded content they ban.

How much does a TikTok Shop LIVE sale pay?
Creator commission on one $24.99 product sold at a $19.99 flash price
| 10% commission | $2.00 a sale |
|---|---|
| 15% commission | $3.00 a sale |
| 20% commission | $4.00 a sale |
UGCLive commission calculator's affiliateEarnings(), 16 October 2026. Commission = (price − seller discount) × rate, by TikTok Shop US; the price, discount, rates, 20 orders and 8% returns are our example.
The flash discount comes out of the commission base too: at 15% the same product at full price would pay $3.75 a sale, $0.75 more than at the flash price. On the seller's side, TikTok's US referral fee on that $19.99 order is $1.20 at the 6% TikTok's category table lists, or $1.60 at the 8% sellers report for most non-food categories since August 4, 2026 (beBOLD Digital), before the creator's $3.00. Commission is typically paid 15 days after delivery in the US, and 3 or 15 days in the UK and EU.
Put in the LIVE price, the seller's discount and your rate to see a sale's commission and how many sales a target takes.

Not checked
- Partly: The follower count to go LIVE without selling: TikTok says it varies by region and doesn't publish it.
- Partly: Whether a seller's own account still gets LIVE permissions automatically: the page that says so is from 2023.
- Partly: LIVE Manager, flash sales and the pinning steps in the UK and EU: the pages we read are TikTok Shop US ones.
- Partly: How many viewers buy on a LIVE: we didn't host one, and the 20 orders in the example are an assumption.
