TikTok text to speech voice generator
TikTok text to speech, two ways: the steps for TikTok's own voice in the editor, from TikTok's help page, and a free generator for a WAV voiceover you can use in any app. No sign-up.
Type your line, pick a voice and press Make the voiceover. You get an audio file to add to your video in any editor.
How do you use text to speech in the TikTok app?
TikTok's text to speech reads out text you've placed on the video. Its help page Accessibility for your videos (read October 14, 2026) gives four steps:
- In the TikTok app, tap the Add post (+) button at the bottom.
- Record or upload a video.
- Tap Text on the side panel, then type the text you want on the video.
- Tap the text you want read out loud, then select Text-to-speech.
That page doesn't cover changing the voice, removing it, or why the option might not show, and we couldn't find another TikTok help page that does. We haven't tested those steps on a phone, so we'd rather not guess at them here.
TikTok's voice or a voiceover file: which should you use?
| TikTok's text to speech | This generator | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it works | Inside the TikTok app, on a video you're posting to TikTok | Anywhere: you get a .wav file for CapCut, InShot, UGCLive or any editor |
| What it reads | Text you've placed on the video | Up to 400 characters you type here |
| Voices | TikTok's own | 10 Kokoro voices, at 0.7× to 1.5× |
| Same clip on Reels or Shorts | The voice is added in TikTok's editor, so you'd add it again in the other app | Use the same file on every platform |
Our pick: TikTok's own voice for a quick TikTok-only post, since there's nothing to download. The generator when the same video goes to Reels or Shorts too, or when you edit outside TikTok. For a script you'd rather say yourself, rehearse it with the teleprompter. Need a whole narrated video with stock visuals, not one voice clip? Our Fliki pricing breakdown shows what that costs in credits.
Where do the voices come from?
From Kokoro-82M, an open-weight text to speech model whose Hugging Face model card lists the Apache 2.0 licence. We run it on fal.ai, whose Kokoro page lists “Commercial use permitted” and WAV output. Both read October 14, 2026. fal's page doesn't say how long the audio link stays up, so download the file when you make it.

FAQTikTok text to speech FAQ
Is this the TikTok text to speech voice?
No. TikTok's own voices only work inside the TikTok app, on text you've placed on the video. This makes an audio file with other AI voices that you can use in any editor and on any platform.
How do I use text to speech inside TikTok?
TikTok's help page (read October 14, 2026) says: tap Add post, record or upload a video, tap Text and type, then tap the text you want read out and select Text-to-speech.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up. Each visitor gets 5 free voiceovers a day.
Can I use the audio commercially?
The voices come from Kokoro, which its model card on Hugging Face lists under the Apache 2.0 licence, and fal.ai's page for it says commercial use is permitted (both read October 14, 2026). Don't make a voice say something false about a real person or product.
What happens to my text?
It goes through our server to fal.ai, which runs Kokoro and hosts the WAV at a link so you can download it. fal's page doesn't say how long it keeps the file, so download it right away. UGCLive doesn't store your text or the audio, and fal's terms apply.
