UGCLive's hook writer: a brief for an insulated water bottle and three hooks it wrote, tagged curiosity, problem and result

How does a brief become a script?

Write a UGC script from your product brief: AI hooks in different angles, a timed script, a caption with hashtags, then a teleprompter to read it on.

Five steps, each with a free tool you can use now.

How to write a UGC script

  1. Step 01

    Say what it's about

The product, or the topic of the video.

  2. Step 02

    Read it as you film

The teleprompter scrolls the script at your pace.

  3. Step 03

    AI edits the take

    Pauses cut, every word captioned.

  1. 1. BriefWhat you sell and who it's for. The brief template has the questions.
  2. 2. HooksOpening lines in different angles from the hook generator.
  3. 3. ScriptTimed beats from the script template.
  4. 4. CaptionThe post caption and hashtags.
  5. 5. ReadOn the teleprompter, at your speed.

How many words fit in 15, 30 or 60 seconds?

At 150 words a minute, a relaxed talking pace, a 30-second script is about 75 words.

Words that fit at 150 words a minute

Words that fit at 150 words a minute
15 s video38 words
30 s video75 words
45 s video113 words
60 s video150 words

Seconds × 150 ÷ 60. Our 30-second test voice ran at 148 words a minute overall and 187 while talking (pauses left out), measured from its word timings.

Why write three hooks?

The opening line decides who keeps watching. Export one video with three openings and let the numbers pick.

Version A of a squeegee ad rendered by UGCLive, opening on the hook about cleaning the shower the wrong way
A: the mistake“If you clean your shower like this, you're making it worse.”
Version B of the same squeegee ad rendered by UGCLive, opening on a before and after hook
B: before and after“This shower door before. Now watch.”
Version C of the same squeegee ad rendered by UGCLive, opening on a hook about saving the cost of a cleaner
C: the money“I stopped paying a cleaner for this one job.”

Three versions of one stand-in ad from UGCLive's export, only the hook changed. How to test them: scaling ads with UGC.

What does reading it on camera look like?

The script scrolls at your speed while you film, and holds its place between takes.

UGC script writer questions

Is the script writer free?

The free tools are, with no sign-up: our AI hook, caption, hashtag and idea writers take up to 20 requests a day per visitor. In the web editor, hooks written for your video come with a plan.

Does it write the whole script?

The script template builds the timed beats and you write the lines; our AI writes hooks, captions and ideas. In the UGCLive app, Write my version on an analyzed video writes a full script on that video's pattern.

How long should a UGC script be?

About 38 words for 15 seconds and 75 for 30, at a relaxed 150 words a minute. Read it aloud with a timer before you film.

Can I test more than one hook?

Yes. Put your hooks in the editor's Hooks panel and export A/B/C versions of the same video, only the opening changed.

Do I need a teleprompter?

No, but it cuts retakes: reading the line means fewer fumbles to cut later. The free online teleprompter works with a webcam, and the app has one built into the camera.

How we made this page

The hook and phone pictures are screenshots of the UGCLive app and frames of its export (a stand-in squeegee ad, only the hook changed). The word counts are seconds × 150 ÷ 60; the measured talking speeds come from the word timings of our synthetic test clip 01.
