When does a Captions export get a watermark?

Two help pages answer it, and they fit together. The subscriptions page lists “No watermarks” under Free, for manual edits such as captions, trims, zooms and voiceover Captions help. The watermark page says: “If you used any of the following on a Basic plan, your export will include a watermark”, naming Co-Editor, AI Edit, AI-generated media and AI Creator, and says to remove them or upgrade to Max Captions help.

So the rule is about features, not plans: an export is clean as long as nothing in the project is above your plan. The quickest check before posting is the corner of the exported file.

Which Captions plan cuts pauses and filler words?

Captions has two tools for it. AI Trim “automatically remove[s] pauses and ‘uhms’”, and its help page doesn't name a plan Captions help. AI Edit, which builds a whole edit and suggests cuts, is a Max feature Captions help. For a creator who wants only the pauses gone, that difference is worth checking in the app before paying for Max.

Do Captions credits roll over?

Yes, for two extra months: a balance can hold up to three times your monthly allowance Captions. Free gets 60 to 200 credits once, for the lifetime of the account, not each month Captions help. The web app is English only and there is no Windows app; Android gets a separate Captions Lite at $4.99 a month Captions help.

How do you cancel Captions?

App Store refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Captions says it can't request one for you Captions help.

When does another app fit better than Captions?

When all you need is captions on short clips in a browser, Submagic's Starter does that, though its silence cutting starts on Pro; see the Submagic review. When you want automatic silence cutting for the least money on a phone, InShot Pro is $19.99 a year in the US, and our round-up of phone editors weighs it against VN, Edits and CapCut. Captions' teleprompter is on Basic; our free browser teleprompter does the reading part for nothing.

What would a hands-on test add?

Which plan AI Trim really needs, and how clean its cuts are. We didn't install the app or subscribe, so both are open. The seller details come from the App Store: App Store (US): Captions: AI video editor.
