Short answer
Billo is a mobile-first UGC marketplace: brands post offers with a fixed payout, you apply in the Billo Creator app, and the brand ships you the product to film. No following is needed, but Billo must approve a 30-second pitch video first. It doesn't publish per-video rates in text; its help center says creators earn about $500 a month on average, and its terms make the brand the owner of every video it accepts.
Billo in one table: what do you get, and what does it cost?
| Billo | |
|---|---|
| How work is offered | Brands post offers with a fixed payout, you apply; brand ships the product |
| Pay, as the platform states it | Per-video rates not published in text; "about $500 per month on average" |
| How you're paid | Stripe weekly per its payments article (its creator page still says PayPal twice a month); PayPal twice a month in Australia |
| Cost to creators | Free app, no subscription |
| Who can join | US, UK, Canada; Australia in the terms; 18+ |
| Follower minimum | None ("no following required") |
| Where you use it | iPhone and Android apps |
What goes into the Billo pitch video?
The pitch is Billo's whole application. There's no follower count and no portfolio upload to pass, so this one video decides whether brands ever see you. Billo (Billo.app, UAB, a Lithuanian company) lists the rules in its sign-up guide:
- Get the Billo Creator app
It's on the App Store and Google Play. Sign in with Apple, Facebook or Google, and always use the same one.
- Record the pitch
English, at least 1080×1920, 30 seconds or less: an intro, a short montage with voiceover, and an outro ending "Hire me for your next video on Billo". No text, filters, music, handles or HDR. A teleprompter helps you say it in one take.
- Wait up to 7 business days
If it's rejected you get feedback and can upload again.
- Add up to 3 examples
Brands see your pitch, up to 3 more videos, your "About me" and your tags when you apply.
- Apply a lot
Billo's getting-started guide says the first approval takes around 30 applications, and suggests 10 or more a day (30 at the start). Brands usually choose within 3 to 4 days.
You also need to be 18 or older and live in the US, the UK or Canada; the creator terms (effective October 1, 2026) and the App Store listing add Australia. Billo can pause sign-ups by region.
What happens once a brand picks you?
- The product is shipped free, and you may keep it. If you're removed from a task after it arrives, its cost comes off your next payout. Customs or duty fees are the brand's.
- Upload within 5 days of the product showing as delivered.
- Approval: the brand has 3 business days to approve or ask for edits; if it does neither, the video is approved.
- Reshoots: up to 2 requests per piece of content, each due within 48 hours, and only for changes inside the original brief.
- Ratings: brands rate you with stars Billo can't remove. Your profile shows your average, approved videos and on-time percentage.
- Premium: after 14 accepted videos, 5 rated ones, a 4.8 average and 90% on time, tasks pay more (amounts not published in text).
What does Billo pay, and when does the money land?
Each task shows a fixed payout before you apply, and you can't negotiate it. Billo doesn't publish its per-video rates in text (its payments page shows them only as an image). The getting-started guide says creators earn about $500 a month on average; the testimonials on its creator page, with lifetime earnings up to $162,000, are individual cases. The App Store listing says Billo has paid creators $8.3 million and lists 500+ job offers a week, the same total Billo gave in its March 2025 expansion post; the creator page itself says "hundreds of job offers everyday".
| Item | What Billo says |
|---|---|
| Base pay | A fixed fee per task, at least one video's payout plus the product |
| Add-ons | Photos (4 photos add $40), 30 days of organic posting or Spark/partnership ads at a price you set, whitelisting, extra footage |
| Extra footage | You set the price; Billo adds 25% on top for the brand |
| US, UK, Canada | Stripe to your bank: reaches Stripe within 3 days of approval, paid out every Monday, 1 to 2 business days to arrive |
| Australia | PayPal, twice a month (terms) |
| Fees | The help center says Billo covers transfer fees; the terms make Stripe's fees and currency costs yours |
What do you give up when a brand accepts your Billo video?
Everything. Under the creator terms you "irrevocably assign and transfer to the Brand all rights, title, and interest" in a video once the brand accepts it, worldwide and with no time limit. The brand can edit it, use your image, name, voice and likeness in any media, and sublicense it. You can't post it on your own channels, Billo keeps its own licence to promote the platform, and a brand can make staying away from its competitors a condition of its offer.
The terms also stop you working with a Billo brand outside Billo for 12 months from the order or your last contact. That's why the fixed payout matters more than it looks: on a direct deal, a full buyout like this is usually the most expensive line on the quote. The rate calculator shows how much a perpetual license adds.
What do Billo creators say in their reviews?
Billo's claimed Trustpilot page scores 4.0 from 521 reviews (74% five stars, 13% one star), from brands and creators both. The Billo Creator app is rated 4.7 from about 1,900 ratings on the App Store.
Of the 20 most recent Trustpilot reviews on October 14, 2026, six were from creators and nine from brands; five didn't say. Four of the creator reviews gave five stars, one saying they went from brand new to established in 90 days. One (July 2026) says a payment due after 30 days never came, and one (May 2026) objects to being offered $5 to $10 for a reshoot. Billo had replied to 18 of the 20. On the App Store, the written reviews we could see call it a good place for beginners to build a portfolio.
Who does well on Billo?
New creators with no audience who are comfortable on camera, can film to a 5-day deadline and treat the first months as paid portfolio building. It's a poor fit if you want to grow your own channel from the work or keep any rights in it.
In its favour
- No following or experience needed, and the product is shipped free.
- Weekly Stripe payouts in the US, UK and Canada.
- Short, written deadlines: 3 business days for the brand to decide, auto-approval after that.
- Reshoots capped at 2, inside the original brief.
- Add-ons (posting, Spark ads, footage) let you charge for more than the base video.
Against it
- Per-video rates aren't published in text, and you can't negotiate a task's payout.
- You assign full, permanent rights to the brand, with no reposting on your own pages.
- No working with a Billo brand outside Billo for 12 months.
- A pitch video and around 30 applications before the first job.
- Its creator page, help center and terms disagree on payout method and fees.
Want to keep your rights? Try these instead
- Insense review: you set your price and keep ownership, though the license you grant is perpetual; Spark codes and partnership ads are time-limited per brief.
- Backstage UGC review: a 6-month paid-ads and 12-month organic license instead of a full assignment, if you'll pay a subscription to apply.
- Sideshift review: paid posting campaigns with view bonuses, if you want to grow niche accounts.
What's still unknown
- Per-task amounts: Billo's rate table is an image, so we don't quote it.
- Whether the help center's new choice of payout currency applies in every country.
- Billo's Android rating: Google Play's listing didn't load for us.
- Whether brands see your location or age when you apply.
